I discovered Takeover Radio from a visit to Volunteer Action Leicester (VAL) and decided to have ago at work experience. One of my first tasks, was to shadow a news reader. This was interesting seeing how one gathers the news, headlines, and the top stories and how they sum up the weather report.
So now I tried myself at prerecording the news bulletin, as I suffer with dyslexia my pace is slower and I am not the only one who cannot pronounce names apparently this takes time. But it’s amazing how much you pick up from observing others. I have yet to read the news for the time being as I need a lot more practice. Instead there’s some more interesting things to discover at Takeover Radio.
After a time a different task was offered like what I’m doing now working on the website and blog, helping build up contacts for promotion or advertising.
I like to work on audacity too as this helps me improve my news reading skills along with learning about recording, so now I can not only see but hear myself on a podcast. this teaches me how to edit, copy and paste items, I also learnt this too while working on the website. Hey you are never too old or too young to learn; plus I’ve got more news to give out when I’m wired in tune, so listen to Takeover Radio and take part as well and create yourself a platform because you too have a voice to be heard.
