For our second day of the Twelve Days of Takeovermas, trainee Cloe tells us all about Christmas in the life of Cloe

![]() Over the next twelve days, Children’s Producer Craig Priest will write a series of blogs and v-logs which take you behind the scenes of Takeover Radio 106.9FM and catching up on what’s been happening over the past year. I’ll be completely honest, I’ll struggle to hold back tears when it comes to this year’s Christmas Cracker. As silly as that may seem when it comes to a grown man working with a bunch of teenagers I’m unbelievably proud of what’s been achieved this year and never thought it would be as good as it has been. With this year’s awards evening only eighteen days away I do feel an immense pressure to get everything right, not just because I’m a professional but because with the amount of work and effort our participants have put in, I feel there efforts need to be recognised with more than just a pat on the back. The success of the “half term tour” shocked me as not only did every participant grow over the course of the week, but also kept asking for more. It became clear that school holidays were key to getting young people involved and there and then made it my mission to put on a different scheme skillset at every available opportunity. I won’t harp on too much about each scheme, otherwise I run out of things to talk about over the twelve days! However I will say this, the success and popularity of the schemes continue to shock me, only this afternoon a participant, who you will hear from at the bottom of this blog, asked if we were planning to run anything over Christmas! It’s hard to say yes on that one, as we all deserve a holiday! Fortunately I have a very cunning plan! ![]() So much has happened this year I genuinely have no idea how we’re going to cram it into one awards night, OR how I’ll stop myself from sheding a proud tear, there is one thing I ask though. No, not that the participants present at Purple Frog skate shop on the final day of the “Half Term Tour” share their videos of me falling flat on my backside, but that YOU, whether a parent, guardian, friend of the family or humble admirer of what we do comes along to the Christmas Cracker and helps myself and the participants to celebrate a wonderful year of activities! Thanks for the support, keep reading, watching, listening and sharing.
