Getting really into the rhythm of being a dad now... it takes alot of getting used to and Bex is still much better at it than I am - but I'm slowly getting there!

Skyla is an amazing little girl and definately the best thing to have happened in our lives! She's also very very good and well behaved - for now anyway! Hopefully it'll last!



I wanted to share this great pic: Here she was in my arms, I'd fell sleep but she soon woke me up!

2 days late, but our beautiful baby daughter Skyla Roxanne was finally born this afternoon at 4.54pm, weighing 3.6kgs

Skyla was due to be born on Sunday, although Bexi had been in a slow labour since 11pm on Friday night!! Painful contractions for days on end, OUCH!

At 1am this morning, Becki woke me up to pratically say that her waters had broke - so a call to the hospital and Becki's mum and then we were on our way to hospital!

Officially 17 hours in labour, Skyla arrived healthy and well and Bex is also doing fine!

After the long labour and an epidural, Bex says she's not going through it ever again... but that'll probably change in time lol!

After years and years of having a favourite track do poorly in the results of the Eurovision Song Contest, I was so delighted to see our Predicted winner - Germany's Lena with "Satelitte" actually go on and win the contest!

It might be unpatriotic to want Germany to win over the UK, but when it comes to Eurovision, I support the music! I could play Germany's tune over and over as it's a great catchy tune... whilst I never want to hear the UK's Josh ever again!

Sad times today... it was the last ever time that the Dave Show was a Breakfast Show!

For 2 years almost, we have been Leicester's Favourite Breakfast Radio Show!

But today, it all come to an end as I'll be moving to my classic 11am til 3pm slot from 14th June - yes the Dave Show is coming home!

Unlike most stations, the move isn't due to a crash in the ratings but due to the fact I want to spend my mornings with my beautiful little girl when she's born!

A legendary show feature that has ran for almost as long as Coronation Street - well, not quite - finally came to an end today!

Yes it was the FINAL EVER edition of SToneDlove's Golden Oldie Battletrax that saw 2010 Champions League Winner Jack Lil take on Series 2 Champion THE Alex Miles

The 2 tracks represented were Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" for Jack going up against Robin S's original "Show Me Love"

Listeners voted for over an hour to crown... THE Alex Miles the Ultimate Champion!!...

Had to have a massive rant on air about this today and also on Facebook too, so I thought I'd continue the trend on here too...

Throughout the past few days, there has been endless idiotic groups on Facebook cropping up similar to this one:



The group entitled "COME ON ENGLAND .... or is that racist"

Who comes up with these stupid groups? Groups stating there is a suposed ban on flying England flags and wearing England football shirts in public... THERE ISN'T ONE! Get a grip!

Firstly, the ONLY ban on England flags was local councils stating that you couldn't have ANY flag (not just the Cross of St.George) on your house unless it was erected with a Flag Pole - THIS WAS LIFTED IN 2006!

Secondly, there is NO BAN on wearing England shirts! It was a poorly written article in The Sun newspaper (of all places) that spread this rumour like wildfire that simply informed that local police in London had instructed a pub in London to ban ALL football shirts towards the end of the season as there might be a bit of trouble.

Somwhere along the line, a game of Chinese whispers took place and people, without thought, created groups all over Facebook stating the non-English people found them offensive... this has led to a ridiculously over-the-top witch hunt that just isn't needed!

Maybe if these silly people, who believe everything the read on Facebook (which is a joke in itself, surely?) actually went out and asked people from other backgrounds and communities if they found the English flag/shirt offensive they would find that they actually accept it and want to see England do well!

People should think before jumping on the bandwagon!
